At Lifson Linen we attend to each customers needs as best as we can. From our combined 40 years of experience we have complied the following list from frequently asked questions...
Is there a guarantee on your Royal Comfort products?
Royal Comfort duvets and pillows have a 2yr guarantee against faulty workmanship and material defects.
I get really cold in Winter but sweat in Summer. What duvet do you recommend?
The higher the down content the better the duvet will regulate to your body temperature. We would suggest one of the following from the Royal Comfort range: Snow White Siberian Goose Down or Hungarian Goose Down duvet.
Should I use a different duvet in Winter and Summer?
If you feel the heat you can use either a Cotton Comfort, Fine Fibre Microfibre Moderate or a Royal Comfort Hungarian Goose Down summer weight duvet for the warmer months.
My partner gets warm at night but I get cold, what do you suggest?
It's very important to understand that couples who sleep under one duvet radiate much more body heat. Therefore we can suggest one of the following:
a) Purchase a duvet with a high down content that will regulate to both your body temperatures e.g. Royal Comfort Hungarian Goose Down Duvet.
b) Purchase two separate duvets. You'll never have to argue over who stole the duvet in the night again!

How do I know if I have a down or a feather product?
A down product will always be light but still keep you warm and you shouldn't be able to feel any stalks (feathers) in the filling. Always make sure you ask for down and not feathers and check that the composition is stated on the INSIDE sewn in label of the duvet or pillow i.e. 90% down/10% feather. All Royal Comfort products state the composition on the products.
My Royal Comfort duvet and pillow state 'All New Filling Materials'. What does this mean?
The duvet does not contain any impurities or couché.
Can I wash my Royal Comfort pillow?
All Royal Comfort products are machine washable and tumble dryable as per the wash care instructions.
I have allergies. What do you suggest?
Royal Comfort products are not known to cause allergies. However if you are still uncertain we have a range of Fine Fibre Microfibre duvets and pillows, Micromax duvets and pillows and Cotton Comfort duvets.
Must I judge my Royal Comfort Siberian Goose Down pillow by its weight?
Good quality down will always be very light but still look lofty.
I saw on my Fine Fibre Microfibre pillow a NOMITE label. What is that?
NOMITE labels are found on our Fine Fibre Microfibre and Royal Comfort down and feather ranges and certify the products are suitable for house dust-mite sufferers.
Why is Fine Fibre Microfibre different from other microfibre?
Fine Fibre filling is based on the same principle as down, being a ball fibre it allows the fibres to trap air creating 'warmth without weight'.
Does Lifson Products perform in-house testing?
Of course not. That would be like writing a test and having the answers. Our filling is washed, sorted and graded in Europe according to European Down And Feather Association Standards. Each filling is inspected by the state vet on arrival in South Africa and must be accompanied by veterinary permits. If we tell you it's 90% Hungarian Goose Down, we can prove its 90% Hungarian Goose Down.
What is tog rating?
Tog rating is the warmth to body ratio. It does not give indication how well a product regulates to your body temperature.
What is filling power?
Filling power is the International standard that measures the quality and performance of the down or feather filling. High filling power equals good quality.
Is down filling friendly to the environment?
Sleeping with a Royal Comfort product is an excellent alternative to an electric blanket. You will save electricity even in the coldest months. Down is a natural product and is a by product obtained from geese or ducks that are farmed commercially. The down and feathers used in the manufacture of Royal Comfort products is sourced humanely.
